TROPICAL SKY

Finally I saw her, I could not believe my eyes
Luminous vision, sterling apparition
As the full moon in a tropical sky
Sister of mercy, would you kindly hear my plea?
Oh I’ve wandered alone, naked and stoned
The moon she could not follow me

This is a song of thankfulness
Like a beacon in my loneliness
My love and my gratitude
Respect for this holiness
In an unholy world………

A traveler alone, through these streets I’ve never known
A masquerade of ghouls, conjurors, fools
In this winter of virtue and will
Here in shadows and mist, where we hang on by tooth and by fist
With innocence taken, abandoned, forsaken
The spirits are teaching me still

This is the last uncharted mystery
The culmination of our history
Rushing headlong on this stone
That our maker’s thrown…

Through this endless squall of dissonance
Comes a mother’s voice of calm and resonance
Through iron and concrete the wind shall blow
Through these cracks in the pavement a tree must grow
As certain as rhythm, as poignant as rhyme
The music is sacred, the dance divine
And we all share one heartbeat
It flows through me from my braids down to my feet

And at last I see the possibility
Pluck the strings of connection and tranquility
The divinity in you is the divinity in me
NAMASTE I was blind but now I see
All for this chance
To take a part in this great dance
Rushing headlong on this stone
From our maker’s throne…
